AVENUE Q UK website

Duncan booked for some us to see Avenue Q on Thursday – opening night at the Noel Coward Theatre in Soho. We had to go. About six months ago we were watching Aly in the Musical Theatre Society Xmas Performance, when a bunch of curious songs cropped up and Duncan went into a frenzy. “It’s like South Park, with Muppets!!” We heard him, and so did the other 50 people in the room. So when the adverts showed up it was a must see.

I highly recommend it. This show is absolutely hilarious. It must be juxtaposition of childrens medium and OTT rudeness that does it – the same reason Team America, South Park and Family Guy are so popular. Yet it retains a certain heartfelt sweetness about it. Highlights have to be ‘The Internet is for porn,’ ‘Schadenfreude’ and the life-affirming ‘For Now.’

And check out the US Avenue Q site. You can even send Avenue Qcards!
