‘Only pay for results’ – Chinese science policy advisor December 20, 2005

Professor Xu Huandong, clearly talking out of his arse. As policy researcher Duan Yibing points out, this goes against the very nature of science as curiosity driven speculation. How on earth could scientists survive if they only got funding for innovative results. And goodness knows what the Chinese government would deem ‘innovative research’.
