Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children October 9, 2005

Posted by ayasawada in Anime.

A stunning sequel to the most popular of the Final Fantasy RPG series, Advent Children lives up to the hype, I think. Admittedly, the plot is clearly written by video-game writers – do not watch this for a typical comprehensible movie. You certainly need to at least know of the game for this to make any sense of this. But this is made purely for the fans and it pretty much gives them everything they could want: a ridiculously fast-paced plot, the return of every character from the game (even when it’s totally unnecessary), thrilling action set-pieces and all the gorgeous, gorgeous animation of the cut-scenes. It’s Final Fantasy without the annoying requirement of playing a game.
