The NFT (National Film Theatre, London on South Bank if you didn’t know) have finally announced details of their August Anime season and the line-up is very very exciting (follow the link above). Scheduled are:

-Animation Workshop: Drawn Animation
-Kakurenbo (Hide and Seek) + Paranoia Agent Episodes 1-3
-Kiki’s Delivery Service (Majo no takkyubin)
-Makoto Shinkai in Conversation + Voices of a Distant Star (Hoshi no koe) + She and Her Cat (Kanojo to Kanojo no neko)
-Millennium Actress (Sennen Joyu)
-Perfect Blue (Yume nara samete)
-Princess Mononoke (Mononoke-hime)Steamboy
-Tokyo Godfathers
-Workshop: A Bluffers Guide to Japanese Animation

And, with the exception of the Miyazaki movies, all of them are subbed! (even the workshops! lol). Tickets will go on sale in a couple of weeks.

I am so up for watching several of these. The prospect of seeing original language Satoshi Kon movies (and Paranoia Agent!) on the big screen is a thril in itself. But the chance to see and hear Makoto Shinkai in person is electrifying!
