Beautiful World – Utada Hikaru

Beautiful World is the theme song for the first of the new Eva movies, released in Japan this month. It’s also, as DM says, the best Utada Hikaru song in years. I’ve been playing it almost non-stop for the last week. It just chimes with me. Partly because it’s Eva, partly ’cause it’s Hikki, but mostly because the tune and lyrics are just so perfect for the subject. Gosh I’m a geek.

Anyway, incredibly, Hikki’s entire back catalogue –  right up to Beautiful World — is now on the UK iTunes Music Store. Jpop! In the UK! The revolution has begun.
