I almost forgot. Today (well, yesterday now) is World Tuberculosis Day and we spent Thursday slaving well into the evening to put up SciDev.Net’s World TB Day resource.
Tuberculosis (TB) kills over one million people each year. Control is hampered by drug-resistant strains and the increasing threat of coinfection with HIV/AIDS.
This year’s World TB Day (24 March) aims to highlight the world’s collective responsibility to combat this curable disease.
Here, we present a collection of news, commentary and feature articles that describe and discuss some of the issues facing TB control in the developing world.
It’s a cause that really does need more awareness, so please stop by.

In short: A dream… I’m inside a dream… Just the same view over and over again…
Thoughts: If Haruhi sent KyoAni’s popularity through the roof, Kanon confirms that they can do no wrong. In hindsight, it’s quite a canny move – by doing a remake of an ultra-popular game with a not-so-good anime, it provides a yardstick of just how skilled the studio is.

Balance to the force March 19, 2007

Days like this drive me round the bend.
Today was frezing. From a fair 14 degrees C to a chilly 7 – it was sunny this morning and by the afternoon it snowed! To top it all off the fricking heating at work chose today of all days to break down, so a lovely day chilling (literally) in front of a PC with gale force winds rattling the windows. If anyone was in any doubt as to the bizzare nature of the British weather, the last three days will have erased it.
I was tired and a little rattled, my mind not quite clicking on all gears for one reason or another and two Japanese tests to look forward to in the evening. But luck balances out. Tests: not so bad. And extra luck in the FA Cup. Presents for me!
